Internship Forms

• Before you start your internship, which is a requirement for graduation, you must complete this Internship Pre-Approval form.
  • This online form will be sent to your journalism faculty mentor for approval. This is NOT your success advisor. Make sure you know who this is before starting the form. 
  • Your faculty mentor will reach out to you with any questions about your internship and then will sign the form electronically. You'll get a PDF copy of the form emailed to you. Keep it because you'll need it to complete the Student Internship Evaluation Form. 
  • The signed Internship Pre-approval form is due the last day of classes the semester before you intern. A form submitted after you have already completed the internship will not be accepted, and your internship will not be approved as meeting your graduation requirement.

  • This form is for you and your internship supervisor to complete and can be done entirely online.

Minors and Certificates

• Students in the Scripps College of Communication (JOUR, COMS, VICO, MDIA or ECT) can add (or delete) a minor or certificate [Qualtrics]
• Students who have majors in a different college need to contact the student services office in their college to add the Journalism minor, the Advertising/Public Relations minor or a certificate.
